Rooney absent from Chelsea trip due to injury

Wayne Rooney was absent from the Manchester United squad at Chelsea due to a training injury.

The 30-year-old forward has started five of the last seven matches for club and country as a substitute.

Rooney started Thursday’s 4-1 Europa League win against Fenerbahce but did not travel to London with the United squad due to an unspecified injury.
