Selena Gomez Not Only Took Three Months Off From The Spotlight, But Also From Her Cell Phone — Here's What She Learned

no title
Considering most of us can't go five minutes without refreshing our Instagram feed, this is pretty freakin' impressive!
As we're sure you're aware, Selena Gomez recently checked herself into rehab after vowing to take a break from the spotlight for three months in an effort to mentally recoup.
The 24-year-old made her triumphant return to the public eye during the American Music Awards, where she gave an inspiring speech about self-love while accepting the Favorite Female Artist award.
In a recent questionnaire with Thrive Global, the Same Old Love singer continued to open up about her hiatus — while also revealing she didn't have access to her cell phone the entire time she was taking a break.
Whoa!
When asked about her relationship with her mobile device, Selly responded (while also admitting she doesn't deal with e-mails, either):
"I recently took 90 days off. During that time I did not have my cellphone. It was the most refreshing, calming, rejuvenating feeling. Now I rarely pick up my phone, and only limited people have access to me."
We can imagine that would be extremely freeing!
She went on to describe the last time she felt "burned out:"
"Three months ago, before I took a hiatus to take care of myself."
And as for what gives the songstress energy, she said:
"Staying healthy (mentally, physically, emotionally) and learning new things."
Which starts the moment she wakes up:
"Drink water, stretch, and take a deep breath."
