Michael Buble’s Son Has Liver Cancer and Has Begun Chemotherapy
He’s a tough little guy. Michael Bublé’s 3-year-old son Noah has been diagnosed with liver cancer, his sister-in-law, Daniela Lopilato, told Argentinean magazine Gente earlier this week.
According to the publication, Bublé, 41, and his wife, Argentina-born model Luisana Lopilato, had their worst fears confirmed on Tuesday, November 1, after visiting doctors in Los Angeles. The worried parents had previously taken their son to a hospital in Buenos Aires, where “after an exhaustive examination, they ruled out mumps and suggested two possibilities: a throat infection or mononucleosis.”
An ultrasound later confirmed a problem with Noah’s liver, and the family headed to the States for a second opinion.
“If God wanted it to be discovered that way, it’s because he wants to save Noah,” Daniela told the magazine. “Cancer is a horrible illness, but we have faith in Noah being able to overcome this. We
know he will. The time to start a long and very difficult treatment has come, but it’s got to be done.
They say children are normally strong to put up with chemotherapy, and my nephew is a warrior,” she added. “He has the innocence of children and that is good. He doesn’t understand too much what is happening. The love people are showing is helping us to see things with optimism, and we have a lot of faith.”
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah, who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.,” he and Lopilato, 29, wrote in a statement. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.”
According to Gente, Noah’s chemotherapy is expected to last four months, and treatment would give him a 90 percent chance of beating the cancer.
Bublé and Lopilato are also parents to son Elias, 9 months.
On Friday, November 4, the “Home” singer took to Facebook to share the terrible news with fans.
