2Pac:Late rapper's letter sold for N54M. See more photos
A letter that 2pac Shakur wrote while incarcerated at the New York Clinton Correctional facility in 1995 has been sold for a staggering $172,000 (N54m).
An unidentified buyer was reported to have paid $172,000 for a piece of hip-hop history at an auction.
Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions confirmed the letter’s authenticity to reporters as well as the final sale price of $172,725.
The four-paged handwritten letter which was written to Nina Bhadreshwar, the publicist for Deathrow Records that 2pac was signed to during his life is titled ‘Is Thug Life Dead?’
In it, 2Pac shares some words of wisdom while reflecting on society and the state of the world. He writes, "A Boss Playa plays life. A Boss Playa is a thinker, a leader, a builder, a moneymaker, a souljah, a teacher and most of all, a Man! I want all my homiez to know there is another level…"
2Pac continues to live on through his musical legacy and fans are finding new ways to hold on to physical mementos of his life.
