Islamic Extremists Hail Trump Victory

Republican president-elect Donald Trump delivers his acceptance speech during his election night event at the New York Hilton Midtown in the early morning hours of Nov. 9, 2016, in New York City.
Jihadist groups celebrated Donald Trump's stunning win in the presidential election, claiming it proves America's anti-Muslim sentiment and said it will help them recruit more foreign fighters.

"Trump's win of the American presidency will bring hostility of Muslims against America as a result of his reckless actions, which show the overt and hidden hatred against them," said al-Minbar Jihadi Media, a network promoting the Islamic State.

According to SITE Intelligence Group, a U.S.-based counterterrorism organization monitoring global terrorism and jihadi networks, Islamic terrorist groups like the Islamic State, al-Qaida and the Taliban all gloated about the Trump presidency.

Al-Minbar Jihadi Media said they "find glad tidings in the imminent demise of America at the hands of Trump," according to SITE.

Trump made defeating the Islamic State a key part of his campaign, belittling President Barack Obama for being unwilling to use the term "Islamic Terrorism." Trump touted that his military generals will be given 30 days after he moves into the Oval Office to come up with a plan to achieve the goal. Trump also said that he will stop Muslim immigrants from coming into the country if they hail from countries known to harbor terrorists.

Trump's victory "may be the beginning of America's fragmentation and the ear of its breakup" and "reveals the true mentality of the Americans, and their racism toward Muslims and Arabs and everything," tweeted Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, a jihadist supporter who has about 60,000 followers on Twitter, according to the Washington Post.
