Arsene Wenger has suggested that Santi Cazorla could be an injury concern for the club after the Spaniard was brought off during Arsenal’s 6-0 demolition of Ludogorets.
The home side powered to victory with Mesut Ozil grabbing himself a second-half hat-trick to seal the deal for Wenger’s men.
But the French manager could be set to lose one of his star players if Cazorla’s injury proves to be of a long-term nature.
“He got a kick on the back of his Achilles tendon and I took him off as quick as possible,” Wenger said.
“In my view he was limping a little bit so I didn’t want to take a gamble.”
The Spaniard departed during the 57th minute and fans will be hoping that the midfield maestro can shake off the knock.
Alexis Sanchez followed his teammate in departing 20 minutes later – but Wenger insisted there was little wrong with the Chilean.
“I just wanted to give him a breather,” Wenger confirmed. “Physically he looks alright.”
Arsenal now move to the top of Group A with a total of seven points.
Paris Saint Germain sit in second with the same tally but the Gunners’ superior goal difference means that they walk away from Wednesday night’s fixture as table toppers.
