Justin Bieber Says Instagram Is 'for the Devil'
It's safe to say Justin Bieber won't be reactivating his Instagram account anytime soon. The 22-year-old singer said the social media app is "for the devil" during a concert in London Tuesday, November 29, three months after he deleted his page.
"Who thinks I should get my Instagram back?" Bieber asked as the O2 Arena erupted in screams from fans, according to videos posted online. "Nah, I don't want to get my Instagram back. Instagram is for the devil. I'm sure … I think hell is Instagram. I'm, like, 90 percent sure. We get sent to hell and we get, like, locked in the Instagram server. Like, I'm stuck in the DMs. I'm trying to climb my way out and I can't."
"I don't know what I'm talking about," he added with a laugh.
Tuesday night's show was the final 2016 date of the "Love Yourself" crooner's Purpose world tour. He is scheduled to resume the global trek in February 2017 in Mexico before traveling to Australia, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Italy, among others.
"This is our last show … and I don't know what I'm going to do when I go home," Bieber told fans in London. "I'm just gonna be, like, doing nothing … and lay around my room, take Instagram pictures and not upload them. 'Oh, they would love this one!'"
The heartthrob deleted his Instagram account in August, shortly after he got into an online fight with his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, who chimed in on one of his posts about then-girlfriend Sofia Richie. "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol," the "Kill Em With Kindness" singer, 24, wrote after Bieber begged fans to stop being "so mean" to Richie, 18. "Don't be mad at your fans. They love you."
Bieber replied, saying he's "not one for anyone receiving hate," to which Gomez retaliated: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad." Bieber deleted his Instagram page shortly after.
