Man City star Aguero names his toughest opponents

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has named the three toughest opponents he has come up against down the years, while also picking out the most exciting players he has played alongside.

Aguero has represented Argentina on numerous occasions and boasts arguably the two top leagues in the world on his CV, having played for Atletico Madrid in La Liga and for City in the Premier League.

When asked by Nissan to name the toughest players he has faced, Aguero said: “Nowadays it’s difficult to choose.”

“The most difficult I’ve faced would be (Sergio) Ramos, another one would be (John) Terry, and I can also name a goalkeeper, (Iker) Casillas.”

Aguero certainly found it easier to name the most exciting talent he has played with – but there may be a few raised eyebrows over the last name on his list of three.

“Well, the three players… obviously (Lionel) Messi. And the other, because I play with him and we get along well and understand each other very well, (David) Silva,” Aguero continued.

“The third one who excites me the most, in terms of the effort he puts in from the very moment he gets his feet on the pitch until the end, would be (Javier) Mascherano.”
