Computer Scientists Urge Hillary Clinton to Challenge Election Results in Three Swing States
Fight back? Some computer scientists want Hillary Clinton to challenge the election results in three swing states, New York magazine reports.
Per New York, the group believes that it has found evidence that the polls were hacked or manipulated in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Last week, the concerned activists allegedly had a conference call with Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta and Campaign General Counsel Marc Elias to discuss their findings.
Earlier this month, the three states helped Republican candidate and now President-elect Donald Trump surpass the 270 electoral votes needed to win the election. Pennsylvania is worth 20 Electoral College votes, while Michigan is 16 and Wisconsin is 10. The mogul won 290 Electoral College votes compared to Clinton's 232
Trump, 70, used to dislike the Electoral College — until now. "The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy," he tweeted after Mitt Romney lost to Barack Obama in 2012. Last week, however, he changed his tune.
The Electoral College is actually genius in that it brings all states, including the smaller ones, into play," he wrote November 15. "Campaigning is much different!"
Clinton, 69, meanwhile, continues to dominate in the popular vote. As of Tuesday, she's earned more than 2 million votes over Trump. She's garnered 64,223,958 votes compared to his 62,206,395 votes.
Trump argues he could have won the popular vote too. "If the election were based on total popular vote I would have campaigned in N.Y. Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily," he tweeted November 15.
