Starboy Entertainment artiste and one of Nigeria’s finest music exports, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known by his stage name, Wizkid, has won an award at the MTV Base MAMA awards as Best Male Act.
The afro beat singer has had an amazing year. He featured in Drake’s chart-topping hit, “One Dance”, and became the first Nigerian to be on the Billboard charts.
Wizkid has had quite a number of international collaborations. Notable mention is his “Ojuelegba remix” featuring American rapper, Drake and English Grime artist, songwriter and record producer of Nigerian descent, Skepta, which broke the internet in 2015.
He has also been spotted with American pop singer, Chris Brown, on several occasions and featured on Justin Skye’s “U Don’t Know” single which dropped on September 8.
Yemi Alade a.k.a, Mama Africa, won best female act.
