Nigeria has moved to 60th position on the FIFA/Coca cola latest ranking, jumping four places from its last position in September.
Two successive victories for the Super Eagles, the latest being against Zambia, accounted for Nigeria’s leap in the ranking. Ivory Coast is still the continent’s leading team.
They moved three places in the global ranking to 31st position.
They are followed by Senegal at 32nd position. Senegal moved seven places, the highest in the latest ranking for African countries, to become the second footballing force in Africa.
Algeria is 35th in the world and their position as Africa’s third best remain unchanged.
Congo which are eighth in Africa, are the 55th team in the world. Mali is 58th, Ghana 59th and Nigeria 60th and 11th in Africa, tied with Morocco. Cameroon remains 59th in the world, while Zambia drops two spots to 94th.
According to the ranking, Argentina maintained its number one position in the world followed by Germany and Brazil.
Spain return to the top ten, while fellow Europeans Poland moved two places up to 15th position; Iceland moved up by six places to occupy the 2st position while Kosovo moved up to their highest-ever placing to 164th position.
