Taylor Swift Tops Forbes’ List of 2016’s Highest Paid Women in Music, Dethrones Katy Perry

Cha-ching! Taylor Swift tops Forbes’ list of 2016’s Highest Paid Women in Music. The “Welcome to New York” singer, 26, beat out fellow songstresses Beyonce, Adele, Rihanna and even frenemy Katy Perry.
Swift, who earned a whopping $170 million in 2016, earned the majority of her cash from her 1989 World Tour, Forbes notes. She also appeared in commercials for Keds and Diet Coke, and let’s not forget when she fell off the treadmill in Apple’s TV spot.
Swift’s earnings lead her to dethrone 2015’s highest paid woman in music, Katy Perry. (The “Rise” singer, 32, fell to sixth place this year, behind — surprisingly! — Beyonce, who came in fifth.)

Adele comes in second. The “Hello” singer, 28, earned a reported $80.5 million, namely from her 25 album sales.

In third place is Madonna, who also had a successful world tour this year. The 58-year-old Rebel Heart songstress earned a reported $76.5 million, according to Forbes.
