The Nigeria national men’s football team, the Super Eagles, will play a high profile friendly game against their Egyptian counterparts early in 2017.
The Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles, Genort Rohr, gave this indication in Uyo after the national team secured victory over Algeria in a World Cup qualifying match.
The Franco-German tactician said among other things, the friendly against Egypt fixed for Dubai in 2017 will avail him the chance to assess the home-based players.
“We have a friendly against Egypt in Dubai in January, which will enable me to look at the home –based players, but I will continue to monitor the Europe –based players and we will see how we get matches for them on FIFA free dates.” the coach stated.
Nigeria was beaten to a place in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations by Egypt who forced a draw in Kaduna before beating the Super Eagles in Alexandria.
The Pharaohs are using the friendly to get in shape for action at Gabon 2017.
